Baker Elementary School is part of the San Diego Unified School District. In 2010, AMSOLAR entered into a broad partnership with the District to provide parking lot and rooftop solar facilities capable of meeting 11% of the District’s power needs under a power purchase agreement.

Baker Elementary is a year-round school enrolling approximately 430 students in Grades K-5, with a majority still learning English fluency. Building on a comprehensive core curriculum focusing on strong scholastic achievement, students at Baker also benefit from classes in technology, dance, and music.

The 114 kW solar facility will be located over five rooftops on campus and will meet approximately 74% of the school’s electricity needs.
