Edison Elementary School

Projects | Edison Elementary School, 111 kW

Edison Elementary School is part of the San Diego Unified School District. In 2010, AMSOLAR entered into a broad partnership with the District to provide parking lot and rooftop solar facilities capable of meeting 11% of the District’s power needs under a power purchase agreement.

Edison Elementary enrolls approximately 620 students in Grades K-5, where English language development is offered in all classrooms to support English language learners. Additional academic support includes extended-day reading, literacy support teachers, and a computer lab, as well as art classes and weekly instrumental music classes for 5th graders.

The 111 kW solar facility will be located on four rooftops across campus and will meet approximately 58% of the school’s electricity needs.
