General Manager
Mr. Attari's experience in the energy segment dates to his involvement in nuclear and fossil fuel power plant design early in his career. He has advised Fortune 100 companies on the their global distribution and operations strategies. Previously, Mr. Attari was a Partner with Archstone and Charter Consulting; VP at Sapient, where he helped lead the North American Strategy/Business Consulting practice; and a Senior Manager of Ernst & Young Strategic Advisory Services. He began his career at Dow Chemical Co.
Mr. Attari holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Bio-Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Philip Moffat
Supervisory Board Chairman
Mr. Moffat has extensive experience establishing and operating renewable energy companies. His 20-year track record includes his early investment in Reinecke + Pohl Sun Energy AG (RPSE), a solar engineering and installation pioneer now a division of COLEXON Energy AG (DUS:HPRG). Mr. Moffat was also an investor in and advisor to Payom Solar AG and Wirsol Solar AG. Through Cobalt Holdings AG, he has invested in more than 15 companies in renewable energy / clean technologies, media and telecommunications.
Mr. Moffat served as a Senior Advisor to Fortess Investment Group with respect to their investments in the German marketplace.
He is a graduate of Williams College.
Joshua Weinstein
Chairman
Mr. Weinstein serves as Chairman of AMSOLAR Corporation and as a member of the Management Board of AMSOLAR's parent company, Payom Solar AG. Mr. Weinstein is an entrepreneur and investor with a track record of success in the United States and abroad. As an advisor, investor and operating executive, Mr. Weinstein has been involved with a number of successful companies in the US, Europe and Asia.
Mr. Weinstein has been actively involved with the renewable energy sector for five years. Prior to the launch of AMSOLAR, he was an investor in, and advisor to, a number of leading European solar companies.
Mr. Weinstein began his career at The Walt Disney Company as manager of Corporate Synergy & Special Projects. He has also been an active investor with Brener International Group, LLC, of Beverly Hills, California, sourcing and executing private equity transactions across a range of sectors, including energy, real estate, media and consumer goods. In 2007 he co-founded a leading Chinese retailer of mobile content (acquired in 2010) and a web-based software company (acquired in 2009).
Mr. Weinstein is also an active advisor to a number of non-profit organizations around the world. He served as an advisor to QuestBridge and on the board of Indian non-profit Kaivalya Mandirman. He currently serves as a member of the Coalition for Green Capital, a consortium of leaders in energy development enterprises. Mr. Weinstein also oversees AMSOLAR GIVING, AMSOLAR's corporate giving and community action arm.
Mr. Weinstein is a graduate of Williams College.
Brad Nelson
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Nelson has over 15 years of experience leading start-up and new business ventures across a range of industries. Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Mr. Nelson was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Transnetyx, Inc., a profitable and rapidly growing genetic testing company. At Transnetyx Mr. Nelson restructured the investment capital base, raised over $3 million of debt financing, helped launch a new operating division, and positioned the organization to achieve over 30% annual growth. Before that, Mr. Nelson served as Senior Vice President of Calim Private Equity, LLC where he led $70 million of investments in the biotechnology, software, aviation, and clean/renewable energy sectors. Previously, Mr. Nelson was a Manager of Corporate Development for Crown Consolidated Industries, Inc. where he led M&A, start-up, and turn-around teams for the multi-billion dollar manufacturing holding company owned by the Crown Family of Chicago. Mr. Nelson began his career in Pricing and Yield Management at American Airlines.
Mr. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
Chris Hunter
SVP, Project Development
Mr. Hunter is a recognized expert in the energy and cleantech industries. Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Mr. Hunter was a Principal at Abundance Clean Energy Partners where he advised leading renewable energy and cleantech companies on market entry strategy, project development, capital raises, and the structuring of financial transactions. Before that, Mr. Hunter founded and served as Vice President of Climate Change Capital's (CCC) investment business in North America. Mr. Hunter created the first comprehensive investment strategy for CCC in the United States. In that capacity he identified, negotiated and executed new business opportunities on behalf of the firm's $1 billion carbon infrastructure fund.
Mr. Hunter has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Joint Executive Masters in Business Administration from Columbia Business School and London Business School.
Marika Landau-Wells
Advisor
Ms. Landau-Wells brings her experience in defining and executing strategic and operational priorities across a range of industries to the AMSOLAR team.
Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Ms. Landau-Wells spent three years with Bain & Company, a global consulting firm, in their London office. She advised clients across a range of industries, including consumer goods, media, and private equity, on acquisition opportunities, operational improvements and organizational management. Ms. Landau-Wells began her career in The Walt Disney Company's Corporate Strategic Planning group, focusing on acquisitions and performance improvement for the Studios and Parks & Resorts business segments.
Ms. Landau-Wells holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and Master of Sciences degree from the London School of Economics.
Bill Gulley
VP, Finance
Mr. Gulley joins AMSOLAR with broad experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Gulley joined AMSOLAR after spending five years as an investment banker with Montgomery & Co. advising clients on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising transactions across the telecom, technology and media industries. Prior to joining Montgomery, Mr. Gulley was an analyst at Harvey & Company, focusing on private equity investments across a variety of industries.
Mr. Gulley earned a B.S. in Business Administration & Finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He is a CFA charterholder.
Michael Haslett
VP, Construction
Mr. Haslett joined AMSOLAR with over 20 years' experience as a general contractor and construction manager, having successfully delivered over $330 million of projects.
Mr. Haslett has managed all phases of project delivery, including design, permitting and construction of complex ground-up and renovation projects. He has overseen construction projects across a range of industries that include hospitality, office, water treatment, building seismic retrofit, historic renovation, cleanroom, tenant improvement, restaurant/food service, infrastructure and entertainment.
Most recently, Mr. Haslett completed components of the Hotel del Coronado Master Plan for KSL Capital Partners, including extensive site-work and new construction of the Beach Village. Previously, he worked with Lowe Enterprises/Destination Hotels and Resorts, completing construction of the Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Conference Center in Torrey Pines. Early in his career, Mr. Haslett worked with Rudolph and Sletten, a leading general and electrical contractor, and Morley Builders on a wide variety of projects.
Mr. Haslett holds a degree in Construction Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Jared Quient
VP, Project Development
Mr. Quient brings experience in business development, client management, contract development, and governmental affairs to the AMSOLAR team. Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Mr. Quient was a litigator with Kirkland & Ellis, LLP¹s New York office. In 2008, he took a leave of absence from Kirkland to join "Obama for America" as the statewide Deputy Voter Protection Director in Florida. Mr. Quient managed a staff of 20 full-time volunteer lawyers and oversaw the largest Voter Protection program in the country, deploying over 4,000 lawyers statewide to monitor the election. Mr. Quient was also a member of the five-person executive committee that directed the coordination between the Obama campaign and the Florida Democratic Lawyers Council.
Mr. Quient began his career working for Congresswoman Susan Davis of San Diego. He has also served as a fundraiser for the Presidential campaign of Senator Joe Lieberman. He is now a member of the San Diego Board of the League of Conservation Voters.
Mr. Quient is a graduate of San Diego State University and graduated cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.
Ryan Cooney
VP, Project Development
Mr. Cooney has a range of experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency sales, marketing and operations over the past 10 years. Before joining AMSOLAR, Mr. Cooney was a Senior Project Developer with Solar Power Partners (SPP). He played a key role in the development of two successful portfolio closings totaling $180 million of solar PV projects, all financed with Power Purchase Agreements. Mr. Cooney was also a Business Development Manager with Sopogy, where he gained exposure to competing CSP and PV technologies. Prior to that, Ryan also raised venture capital for small energy efficiency contracting firms and structured financing with SDGE of over $15 million of Energy Efficiency projects as a sole proprietor.
Mr. Cooney holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Ryan Labrum
VP, System Design
Mr. Labrum has extensive experience in the development and construction of commercial-scale solar energy projects. An architect by training, Mr. Labrum comes from a professional background in design, planning, and real estate development.
Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Mr. Labrum led the architecture, design and project development teams at Envision Solar International and Tucker Sadler Architects. Mr. Labrum has been involved with solar projects throughout the United States and with multiple educational institutions and commercial enterprises. He also served as Project Designer and Project Manager for the Phase III Expansion of the San Diego Convention Center.
Mr. Labrum is a graduate of the University of Utah and the New School of Architecture, San Diego. He has completed post-professional education in real estate development at the University of California, San Diego.
Lindsay Burr
Manager, Special Projects
Ms. Burr brings five years' experience in building support for political and social initiatives, as well as developing and coordinating training programs, to the AMSOLAR team. Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Ms. Burr served in a number of roles on political campaigns across the United States, most recently as the Political Director for a Federal Representative from Iowa. Ms. Burr led the initial campaign phase in all 15 counties of the district and served as the only in-district fundraiser. Her previous campaign experience includes running statewide vote-by-mail initiatives and early vote programs, fundraising, voter contact and Get Out The Vote planning.
Ms. Burr holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Wellesley College.
Ari Ampudia
Manager, Construction
Mr. Ampudia brings experience in both operational and project management to the AMSOLAR team. Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Mr. Ampudia spent three years in the hospitality industry in both Mexico and the United States where he oversaw day-to-day operations for a family-owned network of bars and restaurants, as well as major event marketing. Mr. Ampudia joined the company as AMSOLAR's first employee in May 2009. Since then, he has supported the co mpany's growth in a variety of capacities, including office management and construction management.
Mr. Ampudia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
Jennifer Payne
Senior Designer
Ms. Payne brings two years of experience in solar PV design to the AMSOLAR team. Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Ms. Payne worked at Envision Solar as a Junior Designer on a number of design projects. Her work included proposal completion, 3D drafting, and construction document completion. Ms. Payne also has experience in hand drafting, physical modeling, and basic structural engineering.
Ms. Payne holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design with an emphasis in Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
