Freese Elementary School

Projects | Freese Elementary School, 115 kW

Freese Elementary School is part of the San Diego Unified School District. In 2010, AMSOLAR entered into a broad partnership with the District to provide parking lot and rooftop solar facilities capable of meeting 11% of the District’s power needs under a power purchase agreement.

Freese Elementary opened in 1960. The school now has approximately 543 students in Grades K-5 with a strong Arts & Culture Magnet Program. Every student receives education in the visual and performing arts and the magnet theme is integrated into the entire curriculum.

The 115 kW solar facility will be located across the main building of the campus and will meet over 80% of the school’s electricity needs.
