Projects | Lincoln High School, 385 kW
Lincoln High School is part of the San Diego Unified School District. In 2010, AMSOLAR entered into a broad partnership with the District to provide parking lot and rooftop solar facilities capable of meeting 11% of the District’s power needs under a power purchase agreement.
Lincoln opened in 1949, originally as a middle school. It was converted into a high school in 1955, but the original buildings were demolished and rebuilt from 2003-2007. The school now serves approximately 2,700 students in Grades 9-12 divided into four academies: the 9th Grade Center for Social Justice, the Center for the Arts, the Center for Science and Engineering and the Center for Public Safety.
The 385 kW solar facility will be located over eight rooftops on campus and will meet approximately 25% of the school’s electricity needs.
