Mission Bay High School

Projects | Mission Bay High School, 392 kW

Mission Bay High School is part of the San Diego Unified School District. In 2010, AMSOLAR entered into a broad partnership with the District to provide parking lot and rooftop solar facilities capable of meeting 11% of the District’s power needs under a power purchase agreement.

Mission Bay High opened in 1953. The school now has approximately 1,675 students in Grades 9-12 and is one of three schools in San Diego County that offers International Baccalaureate. Since 2007, Mission Bay High School has also offered the Marine Corps JROTC, the only Marine JROTC program in the San Diego City Schools.

The 392 kW solar facility will be located over thirteen rooftops on campus and will meet approximately 65% of the school’s electricity needs.
