Morse High School is part of the San Diego Unified School District. In 2010, AMSOLAR entered into a broad partnership with the District to provide parking lot and rooftop solar facilities capable of meeting 11% of the District’s power needs under a power purchase agreement.
Morse High opened in 1962 and is known for its athletic and technology program. Morse's present enrollment is over 2,450 students. Ethnic enrollments include all racial backgrounds. Morse graduates have attended many colleges and universities throughout the United States including Stanford, MIT, Yale, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Columbia University, UCSD, USC, Cal Tech, and UC Santa Barbara to name a few.
The 591 kW solar facility will be located over six rooftops and one parking lot on campus and will meet approximately 73% of the school’s electricity needs.
