AMSOLAR Builds 1.47MW Project in New Jersey

(April 6, 2011) - The Middle Township, N.J. Board of Educators announced today a long-standing partnership with AMSOLAR Corporation to create a 1.475 Megawatt solar power system on all four schools and administration building.

The Power Purchase Agreement covers the 2,700 students without any upfront capital expenditure from the school district, producing energy savings the moment the system goes live.

"This partnership is extremely positive from every angle," said Michael J. Kopakowski, Superintendent of the Middle Township School District. "Not only are we going to see an immediate return on our investment, but we are preparing our students for the future by integrating sustainability into our Core Curriculum Standards. Students at every level will learn about the environment, energy, electricity, renewable energy sources or electrical systems based on their grade. AMSOLAR is working with us to develop a curriculum that is specifically crafted to our needs in the district and we're excited to make these big changes together!"

The Middle Township School District is paying nothing to have the solar system implemented. AMSOLAR will own and operate it throughout the life of the partnership, and sell the power to the education district at a reduced rate. Moreover, the company has committed to providing $100,000 in time and product toward the core curriculum standard enhancements for all grade levels through its GIVING foundation.

"It's in our interest both as a company and as a leader in generating sustainable solutions that expand solar power adoption in the United States to partner with educational institutions on initiatives beyond the electricity bill," said Jared Quient, Director of Project Development for AMSOLAR Corporation. "From the impact on global environmental issues to implications for local economies and ownership, our understanding of the potential role of solar power in our communities must be strengthened, supported, and celebrated. To this end, AMSOLAR GIVING leverages a structured corporate giving program to support education, awareness, and exploration of the importance and potential of solar power."

"The Middle Township Board of Education, administrators, teachers and staff are leading our students by example," said Kopakowski. "Incorporating renewable energy lessons into the classroom will affect how Middle Township's students look at the future of our planet and their individual futures as well. These programs will inspire our students to look into the burgeoning jobs that will sustain our country and will strengthen our economy."

Installation will begin once the permitting process is completed. AMSOLAR is a leading solar energy developer with headquarters in San Diego, California. Founded in early 2009, AMSOLAR focuses on bringing clean, renewable solar energy to educational institutions. AMSOLAR's partner schools are able to power their campuses with affordable, reliable solar power with no up-front investment by entering into a long-term solar power purchase agreement. Through AMSOLAR GIVING, the Company gives back to the communities it serves by promoting renewable energy awareness, education and exploration with a range of programs for students and teachers.
