Sherman Elementary School is part of the San Diego Unified School District. In 2010, AMSOLAR entered into a broad partnership with the District to provide parking lot and rooftop solar facilities capable of meeting 11% of the District’s power needs under a power purchase agreement.

Sherman Elementary School is situated on 6.2 acres in San Diego, California. Sherman serves 400 students in K-5 grades. The school's academic program is focused on dual immersion whereby students spend half of their day completing coursework in English and the other half of the day completing coursework in Spanish.

The 92 kW solar facility will be located over five rooftops on campus and will meet approximately 40% of the school’s electricity needs.
